Some basic functionality enhanced on phpPhobos |
Posted by smurphy on Tuesday, 13 May 2008 GMT

some code cleanups have been performed - as some users sent me Mails about the site certificate not being valid etc. So I checked why these requests came in - and noticed that actually some public non critical links on phpPhobos were still using the LOGIN_URL variable which points to an encrypted page.
I was also told that my certificate is not valid - thus my site was not secure. Please consider that a self signed certificate is for me - by far more secure. The reason - I have written...

Weblinks module added |
Posted by smurphy on Sunday, 30 September 2007 GMT

|
The WebLinks module has been added. It was actually a very fast module to add - as while programming the download module - making a weblinks module was already planned.
By removing some functionality required by the download module - the weblinks module was mostly done. Renaming of some internal functions, creating a new DB structure - and the work was done.
As usuall, ACL etc. applies also to this module.

Download module finished, and more ... |
Posted by smurphy on Friday, 21 September 2007 GMT

The download module is now finished. There has been lots of polish and GUI enhancements compared to the first draft, and some detected bugs have been eliminated.
During the coding, it avered that the display width was not always set right. Tis resulted in having a function to calculate the Display size according to the best display width set by the admin - will fix the width of the main window - and provides decent fixed width for the side blocks too.
Some other modules got enhancement...

Download module - first draft finished. |
Posted by smurphy on Thursday, 6 September 2007 GMT

The download module has been more or less finished. As it used quite many features from core components, it was fairly easy to write it and make it functional. Some highlights are that the download DB is capable of using URL's or the BinaryDB content.
What does this mean for a normal user ? Actually - all he has to do for publishing a download - is to create a download ID - upload a file through the Binary Data Interface, and mark this file as active download. As soon as someone wants to d...

F.A.Q. Module finished |
Posted by smurphy on Tuesday, 28 August 2007 GMT
|
|
The FAQ Module has been finished. I'm sure some Bugs do exist - however all required functionality is coded and functional. Note that every registered user can submit a FAQ, however the admin has to approve the submission before going public. ACL control has been implemented, means that the content of a FAQ entry can be made available to World users, registered or dedicated users. Up to the Author to handle this. The Admin Interface enables the Admin to add/edit/remove topics, and group...

FAQ Module - first phase |
Posted by smurphy on Sunday, 19 August 2007 GMT
|
|
First phase of the FAQ module has been implemented. This version is actually just showing the FAQ Content and let's the Admin or Owner edit it. Nothing more. However all contents etc. are displayed correctly - if formating is adapted to the bb2html format as instored on this site. If you find a strange formatted page - you know you have hit a page that has not been converted.
As I still have my old FAQ Data, I need to make a choice on what Data I will leave active and which one not. Mostly...

Changes on phpPhobos |
Posted by smurphy on Saturday, 11 August 2007 GMT
|

Many changes have taken place since the last news entry. Most of them under the surface or in user/admin environments only. So - not everyone will see these .
The User Blog module has now fine-grained ACL support. Means - some users can set it to dedicated, and only the users they explicitely give access to the Blog will have the possibility to see the Blog. Note that violations will lead to blacklisting the remote-users IP Adress after the third try.
The Display width has been fixed t...

The blogger module has been finished - with all gimmicks required to actually decently blog. This includes RDF News Feed on a per blogger base, Send Mail to author or Forward it to someone, print-view.
The content core functions have been adapted and have a nice look. Only the Disclaimer needs to be checked still. All other changes that have happened to the blogger module - are valid also for the news content section...
