The download module has been more or less finished. As it used quite many features from core components, it was fairly easy to write it and make it functional. Some highlights are that the download DB is capable of using URL's or the BinaryDB content.
What does this mean for a normal user ? Actually - all he has to do for publishing a download - is to create a download ID - upload a file through the Binary Data Interface, and mark this file as active download. As soon as someone wants to download this file - he will get that file uploaded.
Check out the Admin GUI Interface
Note that a limitation exists - the maximum file-size has been set to 2MBytes. Should be enough for all needs. Also non-admin users are moderated by the site admin. Not everything should be allowed out
Of course - as always with content on this Site - ACL settings exist. This means - you can limit access to user types or dedicate the access to specific registered users.
