 Not being very happy with the Heinkel HE-111 (which really flies like an overloaded fat bomber) - I was very pleased to have one Shop owner who sells almost only electric Warbirds sending me a Mail telling me that the Focke_Wulf FW-190/Walther Dahl is finally available (Limited number though).
It didn't take me 1 minute to respond: I'll take it !
I wanted that plane for over 3 Years now, but none of the manufacturers actually produced it. Until now !
I did ask the Shop owner to also send me a suitable electric retract for it in the package. 4 days later, the kit was here.
Having learned from previous planes, I did not order anything yet (servo's, engine etc.), but wanted to have the Kit in hands to see if some of the equipment I have laying around from 35years of RC Flying would fit. And indeed, some very old servo's would fit. And checking on what is required, I could actually take the normal cheap Graupner-Servos for everything. DES-577 for aileron, rudder, elevator and I took some 2 old analog-servos C507 I had laying around (which were actually the best all-round servos I ever had) for the flaps.
From my Spitfire crash, I still had an old Turnigy C5055-600kv Brushless 1.2KW engine with a 80A Plush ESC and a 5S power-source setup should be able to power a 13x8 propeller. That should provide enough trust to fly that bird even if too heavy !
As I am an avid user of flying-system telemetry (just because I like to know the current state of the batteries powering my flying machines), I decided to use an Graupner EAM (Electric Air Module) that provides all sort of telemetry data. That way I should be able to have all important data in sight.
Starting building the kit together, I was amazed from the quality the parts provided. The only plane I have where the quality was that good, is the DHC-2 Beaver 25e from e-flite / Platinum line. Everything did fit to perfection on the main wings. I'll have to check the retract's as these tend to hang because the shock-absorbers are too large.

Update: Bird is ready. The ESC has been switched against a T-70 from Graupner with integrated Telemetry. It is always better to know what Voltage the battery still delivers, or how much Ah are still available.
On the other hand, had to add 555g of lead to balance that bird. Note that it is only 555g of lead, as I added a large LiFePo 2S battery in the front as backup power. Hopefully it will still fly Ok - as it probably is heavier than the 2.9Kg from the notice.
The Landing gear has been switched against regular non scale ones. The experience with my ME-111 - belly landing etc. is something I don't want to repeat.
As a last security measure, a GR-24 Pro receiver with auto-stabilization has been used. This makes a very smooth flight possible. Waiting for good weather now to do the maiden flight.
Last Week End of August was amazing. The weather was very nice - and this plane flew without requiring any adjustments. A Dream !
